Special tribute to Peter Heald whose energy and public service helped this wonderful event to begin

St Leonards Gardens were again ‘Full of Cultural Delight’ as this buzzing yet intimate annual interfaith, inter-cultural festival reached its 7th sunny success, thanks to all participating community and faith groups and our wonderful performers, caterers, technicians and volunteer helpers.

It is always a delight to see a great variety of faiths and ethnicities, and all the generations, enjoying each other’s company and cultural riches in a way that encourages friendship and mutual respect. Hastings, St Leonards and Bexhill’s very own Global Village Festival !

Acromax gymnasts, Gizmo kids, Chinese dancers, Cinque Ports Lindy Hoppers, Section Five Drummers, Moonbeans, Hastings & St Leonards Dog Training Club, Ian and Charlie on pipe and drum, Aryan on violin, Oksana and Paul on keyboard and guitar and a taste of the Mediterranean from Oudolin, all graced the stage with a rich variety of spectacle, beauty, joy and fun.

Mayor Judy Rogers, numerous local charities and community groups, Moslems, Baha’is, Catholics and Quakers engaged with the community; St Leonards Parish Church and Play Development entertained the children and we were fed delicious falafels and Afro-Asian food, ice-cream and cake by local caterers. Many thanks to our generous funders: Hastings Borough Council and Chalk Cliff Trust and the wonderful technical support from Tech Event.

Looking forward to another Sunny Garden of Delights in 2017
Have a great summer!!
